Led by Pat White's record-breaking afternoon, the West Virginia University football team defeated Louisville 35-21 on Saturday. White rushed for three touchdowns and passed for two more in perhaps his best performance of the season. More importantly, he became the NCAA all-time leading rusher among quarterbacks by racking up 200 yards on the ground.
The senior from Daphne, Ala. broke former Missouri Tiger Brad Smith's previous record of 4,289 rushing yards from the quarterback position. White now stands atop that list with 4,292 rushing yards.
White also became the all-time leader in touchdowns accounted for among Big East Conference quarterbacks with 98, breaking former Syracuse signal caller Donovan McNabb's previous record of 96.
