A&M rush versus Texas defense should be key
When Texas A&M heads to Austin for the annual Lone Star Showdown against No. 11 Texas Friday at 11 a.m. the Aggies will be looking for their first win in the series since 1999.
And that game has some big significance in Aggieland as the win came over No. 5 Texas following the collapse of the last Bonfire to take place on campus.
This season, an upset over the Longhorns would be of great significance once again, but for much different reasons. The Aggies are reeling after two consecutive one-point losses at the hands of Oklahoma and Nebraska at Kyle Field. With those losses, head coach Dennis Franchione has come under fire from both fans and the media.
But a win over A&M's archrival would certainly change things, at least in the minds of Aggie fans, as A&M would finally get in-state bragging rights once again over their brethren in Austin.
How exactly can the Aggies exploit Texas in Austin? That question is one that is tough to answer.
