Spring Depth Announced
A day before head coach Mark Richt will speak with the media about the upcoming spring camp and the 2007 Georgia Bulldogs, the UGA Athletic Association today released the preliminary spring depth chart. Here are a couple of things that caught our eye.
Arrangement of the Offensive Line
As has been said and re-said many times since the close of the 2006 season, far and away the most crucial area of concern for the 2007 squad is rebuilding an offensive line that lost three starters and had barely enough to fill out a two-deep depth chart set to return. That is what led Richt and his staff to hit OL recruiting hard for this past signing day when they brought in seven offensive linemen; five were able to enroll in January. A few questions have been answered, at least for now, with this depth chart release.
The situation at tackle looks at least good enough that the coaching staff is not going to move senior Chester Adams outside from his guard position. This was a potential move that had been talked a lot about during the '06 season, but with the edition of the newcomers, it looks as if offensive line coach Stacy Searels feels he has a bit of breaking room at tackle.
