Kendrick Moeai finished the season about as strong as any offensive player could. The emerging weapon at tight end caught a pair of touchdown passes in the bowl game and is looking to build off that performance in the spring. Having a tight end develop into and every down threat for the Utes would add a different dimension to the passing game, especially in the redzone where the Utes struggled in 2009. UteZone caught up with Moeai to get his thoughts on spring and the 2010 season.

UteZone: How was the first day of practice?

Kendrick Moeai: It was good, real intense, and everyone's getting after it. We're doing work and getting ready for the season.

UZ: Does it feel good to be back?

KM: Oh yeah, just everyone back together, doing work and getting us better everyday. It feels good.

UZ: How do you plan on picking up and continuing from your two-touchdown game in the Poinsettia Bowl?

KM: We just have to pick up where we left off. Getting back to work, everyone's going hard. Put myself to work so we can get things going.

UZ: What are you going to do to make yourself a better player this year?

KM: The only thing we can do, go to work. Day in and day out, on and off the field. It's exciting. It makes me push harder everyday.

UZ: What are your personal expectations for the season?

KM: First, Mountain West champs. Get some payback from last year, against some certain teams.

UZ: Do you have any bigger goals?

KM: There's always that hope. Really, all were doing is going to work right now and seeing where we get.

UZ: What's the biggest difference from last year?

KM: The biggest change I see is everyone's work ethic. Everyone is working harder, and wants it more. Everyone is pushing each other to get better.
