June 2, 2011Already owning dozens of scholarship offers, Memphis East High School's Brian Kimbrow is planning a summer filled with numerous stops to college campuses. On Thursday, his summer slate began with a return trip to Mississippi State for an unofficial visit.
"It went well," said the 5-foot-9 and 165-pound Kimbrow, who also attended one of MSU's junior days. "It was a good opportunity to visit with the coaches again and see more of the campus. I liked seeing their locker rooms and facilities and the whole campus. I really liked it a lot and we got to see a lot more of the campus this time."
Recruited as a running back, Kimbrow said he got the opportunity to study MSU's offensive schemes while he was visiting with the coaches.
"They told me I would be a good fit with their program and their offense," said Kimbrow. "They run a lot of option out of the spread and some power looks, too. We do some of those same things at my school so I liked seeing those similiar looks in their offense."
Kimbrow noted he also plans to visit the likes of Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Miami, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida and "other schools" this summer. And he added how these visits will help him find that "comfortable" level.
"It helps a lot to see all these schools and it gives you a lot of feedback to compare in recruiting," said Kimbrow. "It's good to see the campuses and meet with the coaching staffs and just see where I feel comfortable."
Kimbrow said he has "no timeframe" for his college decision but did note several schools that have attracted his interest.
"I really don't have any favorites and I am debating it right now," Kimbrow said. "I know that I am looking at Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, Cincinnati and Auburn, too. But I don't have a favorite and I am just going through the motions right now and trying to see everyone evenly."
