It's still easy for No. 7 Florida. For the sixth time in six games, the Gators (6-0) cruised to an 82-49 win against the Marquette Golden Eagles (5-2). Instant Analysis takes a look at how the game was won for Florida.
IT WAS OVER WHEN: Marquette was on the ropes going into halftime, but the life was not completely sucked out of the Golden Eagles until Florida opened the second half on a 9-0 run to open up a 23-point lead. The run included five points from Erik Murphy and Kenny Boynton's first made basket of the game.
HE STOLE THE SHOW: Forward Will Yeguete continued to show the improvements he has made to his all-around game this season. Often Florida's lone true inside player early on, Yeguete dropped 11 points but rounded it out with seven rebounds and a block.
THE STAT DOESN'T LIE: Turnovers and how each team reacted to said turnovers was the story of Thursday night's game. Before the game drifted into mop-up time in the final six minutes, the Gators led 17-2 on points scored off turnovers. The Golden Eagles had turned the ball over five more times than the Gators.
OH WHAT A PLAY: It was more sequence than individual play, but freshman guard Michael Frazier II broke the game open in the first half by draining a pair of back-to-back 3-pointers to bring the O'Connell Center crowd back into the game and built a lead for Florida. He added a fifth 3-ball in the second half and led the Gators in scoring with 17 points.
THIS MATCHUP PROVED KEY: Junior center Patric Young didn't start the game for reasons surround his "attitude" in practice, but that didn't stop the Gators from dominating a thin Marquette frontcourt. Yeguette was strong, and Young played inspired when he came in off the bench - notching three blocks. Murphy added on 10 points. Florida won the rebound battle 31-23 and held the Golden Eagles' greatest size advantage - 6-foot-11 center Chris Otule - scoreless.
