Fresh off its dominating 51-14 win over Clemson, Florida State picked up commitment No. 25 for the 2014 class. On Tuesday afternoon, defensive tackle Arthur Williams of E. E. Smith (Fayetteville, N.C.) told Jimbo Fisher he was ready to be a Seminole. The 6-foot-5, 298 pound prospect also plays defensive end and offensive tackle.
It was only a matter of time before the Seminoles picked up another commitment after their strong showing through the first half of the season. Williams decided it was the right time and right school.
"I committed to Florida State this afternoon. I felt like FSU is bringing back that championship feel and they are one of the top teams in the nation, it's a championship team," he said. "I know Coach (Odell) Haggins can make me into a great player. I really felt comfortable with the entire staff when I camped there."
Williams picked Florida State over Miami and Auburn. He knew FSU was the place for him after watching the 'Noles dominate Clemson on national television this past weekend. He was very impressed with how much freedom the tackles and the ends have at FSU.
"It's a great defense that plays with relentless physicality and speed," he said. "That's the way I play on defense, so I knew this was the perfect fit."
Through six games at Smith high school, Williams has 3 sacks, close to 50 tackles, one interception, and two fumble recoveries. He last visited FSU this past summer for the Jimbo Fisher Football Camp.
