FSU goes without two starters
Get the inside scoop on your favorite team:
Washington has an ankle injury and was already out of the week's starting lineup. Lorenzo Booker, the team's leading rusher, will get the start, while Antone Smith and Lamar Lewis will serve as backups.
"Obviously we lost one of our main weapons and that means the young guys are going to have to step up including myself," Booker said. "We are going to have to pick up the slack and come out ready to play. We have a chance to make it to the ACC championship game with a win and we would like to come out and do that for our seniors."
Also Thursday, an arthritic hip condition will force Florida State defensive end Willie Jones Jr., to leave the team after this season, his fifth with the program.
The NCAA granted Jones a sixth year of eligibility in March, but the former Miami prep star said the injuries have piled up.
"It's a hard decision because I don't want to hang it up," Jones said. "But at the same time, I've got to think about my health now."For more coverage of the Florida State Seminoles, check out Warchant.com.
