  • During the camp season and May evaluation period, there always are multiple prospects that go from unknown to wanted man in a short period of time.

In this week's edition of Five on the Rise, we take a look at several prospects who already are starting to emerge in the class of 2007. Included are three defensive stars on the rise, a receiver gaining momentum and even a strong-legged punter.

    Bryan Anger, Camarillo (Calif.)
    Position: Punter
    Height: 6-foot-4
    Weight: 189 pounds
It's not too often when you say a kicker is on the rise, but that's definitely the case for punter Bryan Anger. The 6-foot-4, 189-pounder is considered the nation's top punter by kicking expert Chris Sailer and he's already picked up two BCS offers. His first offer came from Northwestern a few weeks back and then last week he added one from Cal. When teams start scouring the nation for the top kickers over the next few weeks, watch out for Anger, because he could have more than 10 offers by the end of May. He's just that good. ?Jeremy Crabtree
Damien Berry, Bell Glade (Fla.) Glades Central
    Position: Safety
    Height: 5-foot-11
    Weight: 197 pounds
Damien Berry impressed multiple observers at the Miami NIKE camp with his speed and his ability to break on the football. The 5-foot-11, 197-pounder also plays with the moxie that big-time college programs look for in a defensive back. He also has the athletic ability and versatility to play either safety or cornerback in college. Berry recently has picked up scholarship offers from West Virginia, Rutgers, South Carolina and Miami (Fla.). He has the Hurricanes and Florida State at the top of his list. ?JC Shurburtt
    Ryan Broyles, Norman (Okla.)
    Position: Cornerback
    Height: 5-foot-11
    Weight: 160 pounds
Ryan Broyles was already considered an elite prospect as a pre-evaluation period Rivals100 selection. But when in-state power Oklahoma decided to offer several other local prospects, many thought Broyles had slipped down the charts some. He proved why he was a top 100 pick at last weekend's NIKE Training Camp with an impressive day. He dominated in one-on-one drills by going up against anybody that wanted to test him, plus he did well in the position portion of the camp. He has some quality Big 12 offers now, but watch for him to get some national looks after Saturday. ?Jeremy Crabtree
    Jacody Coleman, Beaumont (Texas) Westbrook
    Position: Defensive end/Outside linebacker
    Height: 6-foot-2
    Weight: 231 pounds
Watch out for Jacody Coleman. Armed with a great frame already, many people believed that he could share time at either a defensive end spot or an outside linebacker position at the next level. After a great showing at the NIKE Training Camp in College Station this past weekend, his scholarship offer count should grow. Coleman, who stands at 6-foot-2, 231 pounds, posted a 40-yard dash in the 4.6-second range and was unstoppable in one-on-one drills. Things should pick up very quickly for Coleman after showing his stuff against some very good offensive lineman in a camp setting. ? John Talman

Nick Sukay, Greensburg (Pa.) Central Catholic
    Position: Wide receiver
    Height: 6-foot-3
    Weight: 200 pounds
Nick Sukay has been overshadowed a bit by other Pennsylvania receivers like Tony Clemons, Shamar Coates and Jon Ditto. However, the 6-foot-3, 200-pounder has received a steady stream of offers since his film has made the rounds. Schools like Pitt, Georgia Tech have offered, but the spread offense teams like Purdue, Michigan State, West Virginia and Northwestern are especially enamored with Sukay's ability after the catch. Sukay is also a ball-hawking defensive back and could contribute there as well. Will schools like Penn State, Michigan and Ohio State be next to offer? ? Mike Farrell
