PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Michigan State's Domenic Natale, rated as one of the nation's top high school quarterbacks during his career at The Hun School in Princeton, will transfer to Rutgers, the New Jersey school says.
Natale, who will sit out the 2006 season under NCAA guidelines, will have three seasons of eligibility. He was a redshirt last season with the Spartans.
"We're pleased that Domenic will come home to New Jersey and join our football program at Rutgers," coach Greg Schiano said in a written statement. "He enjoyed an outstanding career at The Hun School and already has two spring practices and one season in college ball under his belt, and will benefit from having a year to familiarize himself with our system."
In two seasons as the starting quarterback at The Hun School, Natale led the Raiders to a 15-3 record and threw for 2,689 yards and 34 touchdowns. For more coverage of the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, check out ScarletNation.com, and for more on the Michigan State Spartans, check out SpartanMag.com.
