Teaneck, N.J. - The coaches have nothing but praise for their prized recruits right now. The people around the players are convincing the recruits there is no one better in the country.
So, how about a little honesty about the performances of the top prospects at the Reebok ABCD Camp? We take another look at the good, the bad and the ugly that occurred and break down the rest of the ABCD All-Stars. This job is easier because of the incredible effort made by camp organizers to provide reliable statistics.
Good: Washington always gives a max effort, and his defensive stats of right around one steal and one block per game attest to his effort.
Good: McCamey did a nice job running his team from the point and dished out an impressive 4 assists (fourth highest in the camp) while holding his turnovers under 2 per game.
Good: Stokes averaged a solid 8.1 points per game and grabbed a solid 3.9 rebounds per game. He also only turned the ball over 0.6 times per game.
Good: Pickett dished out a camp high 4.6 assists while running his team. He also shot 59 percent from the field.
Good: Fisher averaged a steal per game and dished out 3.4 assists per game.
Good: Wangmene finished number nine in rebounding while also averaging 10 points per game. He also blocked 1.1 shots per game.
Good: Kashwal pulled down 5.6 rebounds while also dishing out 1.3 assists and averaging almost an assist per game.
Good: Chandler averaged 9 points per game while garnering a sixth best 1.4 steals per game. He was awful quick on defense.
Good: Rios plays hard every second on the court and averaged 9 points per game.
Good: Thomas did a good job handling a subservient role to O.J. Mayo and Bill Walker. He also dished out 1.9 assists to 0.6 turnovers while primarily playing the shooting guard position.
Good: Smith, with his amazingly slimmer body, averaged 12.6 points (seventh best in the camp) and grabbed 5 rebounds per game.
Good: Lauderdale averaged 1.4 bocks (sixth best in camp) per game and proved very difficult to score on. He also only averaged 0.3 turnovers per game.
Good: Wallace averaged 10.9 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.
Good: An energized scorer, Graham averaged 11 points per game. He also averaged one assist per game.
Good: An efficient player, Manzano averaged 8.3 points per game on 59 percent shooting while only turning the ball over 0.6 times per game. He also snatched 4.4 rebounds per game.
Good: McKines averaged 9.5 points and 4.4 rebounds while having a positive assist/turnover ratio.
Good: There are a lot of good things to mention about Miller. He averaged 3.1 assists (ninth best) and only 1.6 turnovers. He also had a fourth best 1.7 steals per game. And no other small guards have an excuse about rebounding as the 5-foot-7 Miller snagged 3 rebounds per game.
Good: Holman dominated much of the action in the paint averaging a camp leading 3.4 blocks per game and a second best 7 rebounds.
