Florida's stunningly easy 41-14 victory over Ohio State in the BCS national championship game caused a major shakeup in the final edition of the Rivals.com College Football Power Rankings.
The Gators now have three representatives atop the power rankings, which measure the top players and coaches at each position.
Florida head coach Urban Meyer tops the rankings of head coaches after leading the Gators to a national title in just his second year on the job.
Charlie Strong is our No. 1 defensive coordinator ? an honor he really should share with co-defensive coordinator Greg Mattison ? after designing a scheme that limited Ohio State to 82 yards of total offense.
Smith's poor performance also caused the Heisman Trophy winner to fall from the top spot in our quarterback rankings. The new No. 1 quarterback is Hawaii's Colt Brennan, who set an NCAA single-season record by throwing 58 touchdown passes.
Brennan closed the season by throwing for 559 yards and five touchdowns in a 41-24 Hawaii Bowl triumph over Arizona State.
Harline replaced Minnesota's Matt Spaeth as the No. 1 tight end after catching nine passes for 181 yards and one touchdown in Brigham Young's 38-8 Las Vegas Bowl victory over Oregon. Harline led all tight ends this year with 935 receiving yards and 12 touchdown catches.
Spaeth sat out Minnesota's Insight Bowl loss to Texas Tech after undergoing shoulder surgery.
Fisher supplanted Tennessee's David Cutcliffe as the top offensive coordinator primarily for the impact he had on the development of LSU quarterback JaMarcus Russell, the possible top pick in the upcoming NFL Draft.
Russell threw 10 touchdown passes and only one interception in LSU's last four games, including a 41-14 Sugar Bowl whipping of Notre Dame. Fisher has since left LSU to take over as Florida State's offensive coordinator.
Although Fisher is no longer at LSU, he stayed in our rankings because he remains an offensive coordinator. Other coaching changes caused people to fall out of our rankings entirely.
Louisville coach Bobby Petrino accepted the head coaching job with the NFL's Atlanta Falcons, which made him no longer eligible for our head coach rankings.
Former Miami defensive coordinator Randy Shannon and ex-Alabama defensive coordinator Joe Kines also dropped out of our rankings because neither person is currently a coordinator. Shannon accepted Miami's head coaching job, while new Alabama head coach Nick Saban has hired former Florida State linebackers coach Kevin Steele as defensive coordinator.
Players or coaches maintaining their status as the best at their respective positions included Arkansas running back Darren McFadden, Georgia Tech wide receiver Calvin Johnson, Clemson defensive lineman Gaines Adams, Ole Miss linebacker Patrick Willis and California punt returner DeSean Jackson.
