The Florida State football team and its fans will step out of the darkness and into the white for this season's game versus South Florida.

FSU introduced its "White Out" apparel for both the team and the fans Tuesday afternoon. Florida State football players will wear a white jersey-white pants combination when they face the Bulls on September 26, while fans can purchase a specially-designed white T-shirt at the usual FSU apparel outlets. A portion of the T-shirt sale proceeds will go to the Florida State athletic program.

The university said it will be the first time the football team has worn all white at home.

This event replaces the "Black Out" the Seminoles held each of the last three seasons. Linebacker Dekoda Watson - who modeled the T-shirt on Wednesday while tight end Caz Piurowski modeled the uniform scheme - was a fan of the all-black uniform, but said the all-white combination will be special, too.

"Any new uniform, anything we do new, it's a big deal to us," Watson said. "(The fans wearing white) will be a big factor in us playing the game. That would really get us hyped up. I really hope the fans take advantage of the situation. To walk out and see that in the stands would be a tremendous feeling."
