FSU not expecting star safety Derwin James back for Clemson
Star safety Derwin James, who has been sidelined with a knee injury since the second week of the season, is not expected to be back in the lineup for Florida State's game against No. 3 Clemson on Oct. 29, head coach Jimbo Fisher said Wednesday evening.
Speaking on his weekly call-in show, Fisher did not rule out James' return, but said he "wouldn't expect so." Fisher said James has healed extremely well following his meniscus surgery, but being back for Clemson is "probably a little bit early."
"I bet he's healed enough, I just don't know if they're going to let him," Fisher said.

James, who was a Freshman All-American in 2015, was expected to team with senior defensive end DeMarcus Walker to be the Seminoles' defensive leaders this season. He went down with a freak injury against Charleston Southern and was expected to be out five to seven weeks.
