Freshman quarterback Malik Henry is back practicing with the Florida State football team after being suspended for the last month.

Henry, who was one of the nation’s top quarterbacks in the Class of 2016, returned to practice on Monday, FSU head coach Jimbo Fisher confirmed on Tuesday.

At the time, Henry’s suspension was said to be a result of a violation of team rules. He has not practiced since the disciplinary action was announced on Aug. 20.

Henry is expected to take a redshirt this season.

"He's missed so much time," Fisher said.

Henry enrolled at FSU in January and showed some of his impressive talent in the spring game, when he completed 15 of 22 passes for 205 yards and two touchdowns. But he was running fourth string during preseason camp, even before his suspension.

Redshirt freshman Deondre Francois has started all three games so far this season and is completing 63.7 percent of his passes with six touchdowns and two interceptions. Senior Sean Maguire has not played yet after sustaining a preseason foot injury, but Fisher said Monday that Maguire is doing better every day.
