Bcherod...thanks for the posts. I didn't know about the asthma medicine for feed lot animals.

You are right about the seed saving and I have only seen mention of the Agent Orange seeds on the Occupymonsanto360 website. It hasn't received much mention elsewhere. You would think that it would. It will, though, eventually.

Here's another one.

Monsanto was given the duty to test it's own products. After a 90 day test, yes only 90 days, they came back with an "all clear, no harmful effects to humans". Just 90 days! The CDC, USDA, FDA etc. took this as gospel and adopted it as there doctrine. This was over 15 years ago!!!!!!! Any new testing, done over longer periods of time showing the opposite has been shot down and never even considered. Russia has labeling and has banned gmos and now our meats because we continue to use ractopamine in our meats, a banned substance in other countries, China has labeling!!! And now, a new article, thanks to Mr. Healy, all of our beef producers now use Zilmax in the feed lots to increase muscle gain. Zilmax was originally an asthma drug! What the F^&%^? Has this crap been tested? Do you know you are eating it? It is only the tip of the iceberg. You can't eat meat from the store! Period! It is just loaded with so many poisons to fill up half of this e-mail. My favorite line, "The United States is the only industrialized nation with no testing or labeling of gmos."

This from one of my farmer's rants:

So first, can't help talking about Vernon Bowman the farmer who went in front of the Supreme Court this week. With everyone from the President, to Intel, Microsoft, the best lawyers in the country and a very stupid Supreme Court decision from many years ago, we all know, even Vernon, that he has no shot of winning this case. It does however bring out how awful Monsanto is and this certainly isn't a great public relations thing. But it brings something up. Saving seeds is the way farmers survive and thrive. Saving seeds has gone on for thousands of years. If you can't save your seeds, you are pretty much done. Saving seeds allows you to utilize the good seeds, use seeds that are adjusted to your soil, climate etc. and give you a source of cheap seed. With Monsanto having control of every aspect of farming they are grinding farmers in to nothing. Not one, even the big boys will be able to survive. Add on the fact that nature has provided us with superweeds that cannot be destroyed and we get a President that allows the approval of seeds resistant to 2, 4-d a component of Agent Orange which we all know is bad.

This will go the same way Love Canal, dioxin poisoning and even fracking poisoning have gone. People get sick, lives get destroyed, lawyers hold up the suits in court for 15+ years while the companies make a fortune and in the end they throw a couple of hundred million dollars at the problem to make it go away. Mr. Bowman said he knew he was going to get run over but he just wasn't going to get out of the way.

As the evidence mounts against genetically modified foods are government sits in complicity with one of the biggest crimes ever to be put on the American people. We have no testing, we have no labeling, we have no choice. While our government pisses away time deciding how much ammo you should be able to fit in your assault rifle, our country is getting poisoned and our government isn't doing anything. More importantly, they are not listening to the people. Someone should tell Pelosi and the gang it doesn't matter what size the clip is, one child is way too many and we should be addressing the problems, the causes.

In countries like India they have banned gmos after seeing what it does. This is a country where 80% of the produce comes from small farms, the complete opposite of here. Using old methods and new techniques to growing, not new technologies they have managed to produce record production per hectare of rice and potatoes. Here in the United States we have managed to use more technology, more pesticides and herbicides and the costs have skyrocketed to plant only to see yields come down, destruction of the environment, the loss of the small farmer. Go figure...

So Mr. Bowman's case is not in vain. Any way you can bring to the public view the injustice being brought upon us with the government as their partner, some good can come out of it. Remember, it was Obama not me that said, "the American people have the right to know what is in their food" That was seven years ago and in that time he has approved more genetically modified crops than all of his predecessors combined. This is fact, period.

I went to a really great lecture today on GMO foods, the science behind it, and where it goes wrong.
