I know he was in the hospital at one point with congential heart failure but posted afterward that he had gotten through it and lost a bunch of weight. Never heard anything that we was sick again or the ultimate cause of death. I have been curious to know however...

Yes I have a beef brisket in my signature. I thought about changing it today to a picture of him but didn't. He had weight issues and had a procedure done to lose weight. Damage had already been done by then.

I talked with drew for a long time, like, since the start of his sectionB website and helped him with it. I know he got a little crazy sometimes, but I miss some of the fun talks/emails that we always had. He passed way too soon. RIP Drew...

He got me season tix with the Animals and I worked with him during the Cowgirls contests. I think about him sometimes during Top Chef when they have some stupid ass challenge that he would blow up about. RIP Drew.
I actually never met him in person but wish now that I had. I remember him well from the games since my seats were just down from the Animals. I chatted with him a lot on here and one of the last things I remember was emailing him several protein shake recipes when he started focusing on his condition. Section B will never be the same without him.

Not originally from here, but graduated from Godby. Went to FSU and played in the Marching Chiefs. His parents were local business owners. He worked/ran the family business, maintained the Section B website, did website design and maintained sites for various business owners and the FSU coaches football/baseball camp websites and worked for Warchant.

He certainly would!! Although I talked to him regularly, the last time I saw him he told me that larry had passed. When I lived in tallahassee, Drew was easily my best friend. I think about him at some point every week.

Damage to his heart you mean? Couldn't he of gotten a transplant or a bypass or something if it was that bad?
And Greg, I've had a CT Scan of my heart and arteries and one of those radiographic stress tests in the last year and my heart and arteries are fine and I eat as much or more meat and butter and fat as anyone and am as fit as a fiddle (in that regard anyway)... Sometimes those things are herediatary or there are thin spots in your vessels that can burst without warning...

He was by far one if the greatest friends I ever had. Yep, he could be kinda curmudgenly, but his enthusiam for FSU baseball (yes and cowgirls) was unsurpassed. I miss him dearly, particularly with baseball about to start again.

I wish I'd known Drew better, but unfortunately I knew MadCow too well... Nevertheless, the guy did teach me that life is too damn short to waste on message boards arguing with people who, in person, I wouldn't even bother talking to. For that, I thank him.

I only got to meet him once before the Miami game in 2009, but it was nice getting to chat with him and Chris Nee that night. He obviously made a big impact on the people he knew and it sucks that he's no longer with us. RIP.

This is what I will never understand. I knew Drew for 20 years and I never understood his persona online and the difference off line.

I talked to the guy every evening for years while I was in graduate school. We got along very well. We talked often about his health problems and concerns; we talked often about his friendships and family; we even talked frankly about politics and our personal perspectives on people and the world. He was a good person. I think that I was probably the last person to speak with him. He was in typically good spirits and seemed content with the world. I miss him.

I first interacted with him, other than him banning me, when he had a weird Linux problem. UCLA pointed him my way because he knew that I know my way around, and we got things working for him.
He had his faults -- everyone does -- but he was a good dude.

Really miss him this time of year when baseball is getting ready to start up. FSU baseball just doesn't feel the same without Drew.
And yes, he did like to drop the hammer at times but it was always well deserved.

I miss Drew so much! I think of him often. he was an amazing friend and i feel like those of you who didn't get a chance to see him or meet him in a manner outside of the locker room are missing out. I love you Drew!
