I don't remember the year either. I do remember how you kept begging the mods to ban you, and how you kept posting all sorts of crap on gateybate till they finally had to ban you. It was either the first or second loss of their last 6 year winning streak, which would have put it around 2004 or 2005. I also know Shime had retired and Theo had taken his place. You wouldn't have had to beg Shime but Theo was different, he didn't like to ban posters.
Shime was the one who gave me my first ban over there. It was for 7 days but I emailed him and told him not to reinstate me, and he didn't. I stayed away until Theo took his place. Theo put up an amnesty thread and I had him to reinstate me. As a matter of fact, I got the idea for putting up and amnesty thread from Theo. I have always liked Theo, he's a good guy.

With all due respect, I resent the term "crap". I like to refer to it as highly stylistic and meaningfull discussions of the merits pertaining to their lifestyle and heritage. While at times I may have used colorful language, "crap" it was not. Every word, sentence, and paragraph was heartfelt.

I don't remember the year but it was righ after timmy was injured in I believe the sec champ game. . I posted that I was glad it happened because maybe urban liar would learn not to use him as a fullback. I also explained that his injury would be healed in time for their bowl game. I guess they didn't like my honest assessment.

Years and years, so many times that I can't remember them all, including several hostage exchanges for the likes of Gecko and TheOri, and others, both on Gatorbait and CaneSnort. It's really no great loss for me, as I've encountered very, very few sharp enough to be challenging. With few exceptions, I feel like a cat playing with catnip on the Gator and Cane boards.

I have been banned there since the Tebow era for pointing out that Tebow won't amount to a hill of beans in the NFL (and he did not). In general gator fans are thin skinned and don't take to criticism lightly.

No to converse with them you need to work through the typical beginning of every response of idiot, moron, delusional, etc etc. Many of them have some deep seated angst and emotional scars that do not seem to heal with time. I chalk it up to improper education springing from the Harvard of the mouth. They do not seem to possess the skills of proper communication and the art of imparting philosophical and factual ideas without the benefit of character molestation beforehand. In their fantasy world there seems to exist a vast chasm between reality and fancy.

I'm banned at Canesport for getting into it with a gater. Go figure. I've tried to get back on but the two e-mails I sent went unanswered and I'm not even that sure they were delivered to the correct Mod. I've got a couple usernames I use over there so it's all good. Those cats are pretty cool and I'd like to think of Canesport and the II SB as my vacation homes.
Keep in mind I've ran smack all over the rivals network (PUI wheel of smack nights are classics), generally speaking I haven't found any one group less tolerable than the next. ITG is a different board (every board is different in its own way). At ITG for the most part the regulars want no part of smack talk with the Noles but in a way can't help but fire off every shot they can. It's a lot like our football board. They actually need a smack board in the worst way because some of their regulars are a bunch of p**sies and some would actually make great smack board material. The main reason I don't post there a whole bunch is there is wayyyyy too much bait in the water (or those cats are 'Fatal Attraction' obsessed with FSU) and that they have their quota of Nole posters to ruffle their feathers.

It's a dead board anyway. I don't even lurk on any of the ACC boards as they all suck. I was banned on Cokesnort in 2003 under a different name. I've been back maybe 10 times since then. |

The way I understand it you can't be re-instated on canesport once you are banned, you have to use a different name and log on. They don't care about that. Mcanes/thuggie and the rest of them know that fuegoloco is me. They don't care.

Sorry for the confusion Homie as the topic did take a turn, but I am not banned in any capacity at ITG. This username (d-ronanole) is banned at Canesport but I have another one I use that everyone there knows who I am and still calls me d-ron. I was lamenting about the hassle of having to log in and out over at Canesport (a board I frequent as much as this one). At least I'm still safe at the II SB (my other home away from here). That is until Alice finds me on the boards talking smack about ND (which she always does) and then I have to go back over there and pick on CRW about his scrabble prowess to make up for it.
As stated on many occasions, I just don't post a whole bunch on ITG as you have your fair share of smart ass Noles that you don't need another one. It's nothing personal as I like the majority of the posters there (some of them would make good smack board foes here or if ITG had a smack board) but I would pick up my posting there if your quota of Noles were to drop below the 60/40 split it already is.

Ask them over there and see if I'm not right. They aren't banned. Could be I have the restrictions set too high on them. Or it could be, after our loss to them, I banned a few who hadn't posted here in years, decided to come over and run their yap the day after the game. They knew better but did it anyway, and then ran back over to gateybate and whined about getting banned for no reason. That could have scared the rest of them.
I will say one thing, some of the posters here were way too hard on Homer, I should have put a stop to that, a person can only take so much. Homer added a lot to this board and had been posting here a lot longer than me, but I'm afraid we lost him, and that's my fault. Homer knew the rules and where the line was, and he never crossed it. Sad to say, we have some posters here who whine every time a gator posts, regardless of what he posts. If we can't have an even exchange of smack with our rivals then they won't come over and we end up with a circle jerk board. That's pretty much what we have now, with everyone trashing the gates with no one to answer them. Frankly, it gets pretty tiresome to me. I may make some changes soon. There's nothing wrong with the rules, it's the way I have enforced them... maybe a little too one sided. I'm going to take a serious look at it. Maybe it's me, maybe I've just been here too long, I don't know.

I definitely agree with this. I got a little mouthy when I first joined on here and over in Gatorbait. Got banned instantly on Gatorbait and almost got banned here for sticking up for the Noles but went way too hard after some long time Gator posters. I learned to shy away from this board but will occasionally post. Never really cared about having access again to Gatorbait. |

Clermont, aren't there still a lot of gates posting on the football board? I don't go there very often but I did see where a certain mod banned a Nole for insulting a gate there. I couldn't believe it, looks like we have lost the home field advantage on that board. But that's not what I'm talking about. Every poster on WC should understand the home field advantage, whether Nole or rival, including the mods. We will always have that on the smack board as long as I'm the moderator. It's not as easy as it sounds to maintain that edge fairly, either.
What I was really referring to is things like using some type of gay reference, either veiled or blatant, in every post to, or reference to a gator. First, it's strictly against the rules, and secondly, I get so damn tired of it I could crap a truckload of bazookas. And if I feel that way about it, how do you think the gators feel? No matter what subject they try to discuss, with some posters, that's the standard answer they get back... some type of gay reference. It shouldn't be that way.
