here is the story of my name.  i had a pretty generic name to start.  then there was a poster named StandsWithABeer.  It sounded sort of native american, like DancesWithWolves.  This was just after the 99 season.  I think Dot moved the board from one service to another, so i had to re-register.  the lemon thing had just happened.  the story there was very interesting.  spurrier had previously made the jab about tennessee - you can't spell citrus without UT.  and then the Gator fans were upset we were on our way to a 2nd NC and they were headed to the citrus.  so someone - a high dollar gator booster, who fully expected to lose and brought a lemon with him to the game - chucked it at spurrier as the clock wound down.  it came from roughly the 50 yardline behind the gator bench.  coincidentally, Anne Bowden was sitting in that general area.  So when BB was asked about it i think the following monday at a luncheon, he joked that Anne threw it.  Maybe she did, but more likely it was a fed up gator booster who had aimed for Spurrier's melon.

I like the Ann Bowden theory the best. Hope/wish it were true.

Thanks LT, good story. I knew you were a Rix supporter, which is why I always wondered about the sig. Any bad moves/games Rix may have had were thoroughly atoned for with the 4th and 14. 52 yard throw to P.K Sam in the 2003 gator game. IMO
