They play under different rules. Wenger throws a tantrum and UEFA gives him a 4 day match ban. SAF throws a bigger one, on national TV no less, and the referee doesn't even have the stones to report him, so it goes unpunished. The FA should have stepped in and done something anyway, but they're as afraid of him as the officials.

So as long as David Gill is alive this will be the case. We all know what is going on, it's a joke and a disgrace to sports.

Chris Foy was demoted because Ferguson didn't get enough added time in a game they were losing.

Ex reff Winter openly stated that he didn't get a Utd game for 2 seasons after sending that cunt Keane off.

The amount of horrible decisions they get every season is sickening.

Martinez after a Utd v Wigan match:

"In many ways, you feel as though you are fighting a mountain. They were tackles flying around that, if they had been the other way around, there would have been a couple of red cards." Marinez fined 10,000 pounds.

Is anyone else having problems posting/viewing posts on the CL thread?

I am as well. Took me 3 tries to make my last post; since then, other posts are indicated but I can't see them. I emailed a mod about it right before Christmas, but guess they're allowed some free time during the holidays as well as me.

SAFs tantrum wasn't even the worst part.  Valencia should have had a straight red near the end of the game when he nearly took Anita's foot off.

At the very least a second yellow.

I thought that a 3 match touch line ban is appropiate. How many games was Allan Pardow and his staff banned for, for circling around the 4th official? How many games did Tevez get for a blatant kick on Phil Jones (ooops, not even a call because Tevez was already on a yellow). How many games has Mancini been banned for? He is just as bad as SAF for his in-game tongue lashing of the refs, and especially his rants about the refs during postgame press conferences.

For every call United gets, they get one against them.....(the Young goal that was taken away against City, the missed PK against City, the offsides goal yesterday). There was a no call at the 18 yard line on a Newcastle hand ball. I have seen several players get a yellow and then get away with a hard tackle because they already have been booked (see Tevez).

Wenger should be banned just for the fact that he wears the most God awful, ugly trench coat.

What was wrong with the non offsides goal vs Newcastle?
12/27 3:22 PM | IP: Logged SAF quote saying RVP could have died was hilarious.

I actually don't think United get too many more calls during 90 minutes, they're not as physical as they used to be. my issue is with the added Fergie time as its now known. Seen that way too many times over the years.

The player that was offside clearly had his hand on Johnny Evans, interfering with him. The side official ruled it as no good.

Pardow was then seen blasting the 4th official, how many games did he get banned for that?
12/27 3:40 PM | IP: Logged

The side official ruled it as no good because he had no idea if he touched the ball or if  Evans had. Cisse did not touch the ball and thus does not matter where he was standing which is why the ref changed the call.

Evans is the one who clearly initiates the contact not the Newcastle player.  I figured the only manu fan that could not see the pro manu bias in the Prem was that whiner cdowlar from years ago....LOL

To funny. People used to think the same thing about Liverpool, then they stopped qualifying for the CL.

Did you guys see that Nottingham Forest might be purchased by a group from Kuwait. I root every year for NF to get back to the Premiership, but they always fall short.

It only makes sense that the "biggest club in the world", as SAF claims, is also managed by the BIGGEST a$$hole in the world also. A win-win I guess.
12/28 11:21 AM | IP: Logged Wow, I guess "haters are gonna hate". Like Manch said, we et tons of shit calls also.... and no calls as well. And other club managers are just as vocal and just as encroaching (if not more) past the touch line as SAF. It goes both ways.

I guess opposing fans just get more butt hurt when SAF or United do something that's frowned upon.

Nope, we get butthurt when the other managers are disciplined while SAF isn't.

No.

12/29 10:56 AM | IP: Logged No, they don't. But it certainly wasn't more offensive than some recent actions from the likes of Mancini and Pardew himself.

I have conceeded that a touch line ban was proper, but the more I look at it, SAF just argued heavily with the ref. He didn't curse, didn't abuse, didn't touch the ref (like Pardew did earlier this year and received a 2 game touchline ban where I conceded that SAF get 3), he didn't rant in the press about the refs..... He just argued. Every manager does this, and I don't have a problem with it as long as there is no verbal abuse or contact. He was more over the top than usual, and that's why I conceded to the touch line ban.

SAF is alot like Coach K (or K is alot like SAF). He's a proven winner and has been around a long time. He works the refs to his advantage. He probably gets more calls in the BPL like K does in the ACC, and gets less calls when he is in Europe, much like Coach K gerts less calls when they play in the NCAA's.

Mancini is proably the worst when argueing with refs and nailing them in the press. Benitez was the same at Liverpool. Wenger can be just as vocal, especially in the press.

I wish SAF would simmer down a bit, but as his recent Harvard interview shows, he is brutally honest  and passionate.

I am not gonna continue the pissing contest, United haters will hate and they hardly concede. I think Ed and kooter can meet in the middle, but others only post here when they piss and moan about United. I think that United's history of late game goals gives the impression of bad calls and extra added time (Fergie time).

(I will concede that there are times when a extra minute or two are added when it appears that there shouldn't have been, but after watching a slew of games recently, alot of home teams appear to be given that extra minute or so)

Ya, they have 5 and United has 3. As much as I dislike Liverpool and Chelsea, when they get to the CL, I will root for the BPL team. As much as it pained me, I rooted for Chelsea last year (even it pissed me off that their win kept Tottenham out of this year's CL). As much as I enjoyed seeing Chelsea and City get knocked out of the group stage this year, I was hoping that they would advance. It didn't get any better when United, Arse and Chelsea were all in the semi's in 2008, and I think Liverpool was knocked out of the quarters by Chelsea, otherwise, it could have been a BPL all semifinal.

I missed the Nasri red card for fighting against Norwich, anyone see it? It appears he was given a straight red while Bassong was given a yellow just moments before for a bad foul.
12/29 11:42 AM | IP: Logged

What a strike by RVP! I was getting nervous that WBA might level this match. United usually slumps when SAF plays a weaker front line, but RVP has come off of the bench to score. Vidic has played great, welcome back and hopefully this defense can straighten out, they have blocked alot of shots today and they look alive. Smalling has been less than average, but I love the future combo of Jones and Smalling along with Evans and Rafael.

RVP is playing well beyond my expectations.

There were 4 added minutes, which seems a minute or two longer for half that saw no goals and only a few subs.

What a game! I'm exhausted. An Emirates Epic, as the Arsenal, tied 1-1 at the half with Toon, explodes for a 7-3 win. Game was back and forth the entire half, and was 4-3 Arse with 5 minutes left.

Bassong's yellow was justified and after the scrum was over Nasri headbutted Bassong thereby justifying his straight red.

As an aside, regarding the UCL thread, I say as we get closer to the fixtures restarting we should just start another thread.

I had the game on the radio in the car. When I went into Lens Crafters, it was 3-3 and when I got out, the game was over. I was shocked when I got home and saw the final. Wow, what a last 15 minutes!

When RVP got slammed in the head with the ball while on the ground, SAF commented that RVP could have been killed. G5 is just taking another jab at Ferguson.

We try to move the conversation to more footy talk instead of pissing and moaning, he just wants to keep pissing and moaning. This is one reason I have generally stayed away from posting here, too much pissing and moaning.

Nothing to do with pissing an moaning at all. RVP almost died and so Wilshere did too. All I said that it was sad to see yet another play where a player could have died. It would be tragic. I have no idea why Wenger did not call for the player who hit the free kick to be banned for a very long time like Ferguson did.

The only thing close to death, is once again, Liverpool's season.

Liverpool's season is close to death? Are we going to be relegated? Where can I be the typical American footy fan and hop on the Utd bandwagon? I probably know more about their history and club and watched them longer then most of them  anyway. I'm sure I'm qualified. I ask them if they know who Ron Atkinson was and it's as if I am speaking about American football.

Both players were hit in the back of the head with the ball. Not sure why you are getting upset, I'm agreeing with Ferguson. Afterall, you said that he is "brutally honest" It's been since the Maumba incident ant those two that can't happen anymore.

My dislike of United has been well documented on this board over the years, but as I've come to know more about the EPL and its teams, I've come to understand how freakin' awesome they've been for some time now. In fact, I've come to dislike "The Noisy Neighbors" and Chelsea much more. But because of posts like the above, I've reserved a special spot for the arrogance and pompousness of the Scouse Peasants. Much like our football fans, they live in the past and act like they're still all that and a bag of chips.
12/30 5:14 PM | IP: Logged

If you dislike Pool supporters than that's great. I won't have anything to say to you about that out of respect for what Everton have done for JFT 96 and from how Everton fans are on Merseyside.

If you agree that RVP could have been killed then you don't know much about the game and what real safety issues are.

Only when it's mocking the great and "brutally honest" Alex Ferguson. I must be a writer for ESPN now:

The FA (Fergie Association)

"It must be a doddle being Fergie. The grizzled septuagenarian sits on his perch, dispensing his unique brand of skewed wisdom, free to abuse anyone he likes - whether it be a linesman that has ticked him off or a fellow manager who questions his persistent bullying tactics - all the while knowing the Football Association is so petrified of him he could flash Mike Riley and still incur no charges whatsoever.

In the last week he's proved how close he is to falling off his rocker by practically accusing Ashley Williams of attempted murder for hoofing a football at Robin van Persie's head, re-writing the offside rule in an attempt to justify his argument that Johnny Evans' own goal should have been disallowed, blasting Alan Pardew for having the temerity to question his rant at referee Mike Dean and dismissing Newcastle as a "wee club in the north east."

The wily badger knows he is untouchable, proof of which came when the FA looked nervously the other way rather than confront the bully and flush his head down the toilet.

Contrast the FA's dealings with Fergie with the treatment of Roberto Mancini, whose badly delivered joke about a referee chomping down too much turkey drew gasps of exasperation and a demand of explanation from the powers that be."

Well, clearly SAF has a double standard treatment clause in his contract. I wonder if it's because no one really understands a word he says. His Scots accent is so thick, and his delivery so rapid, it's like listening to a functional illiterate (see: Gator football player) attempt to explain something.
