my .02 is that Saban won't cut it in the NFL long term. the coaches are professionals too. His stint with the Dolphins wasn't a total disaster but assistant coaches at that level don't care to be screamed at in a headset for 3 hours on game day. Also at the pro level you don't have the luxury of bringing in 20 all stars every year and ditching the dead weight on your 80 man roster.

Very true and that's been the downfall of Dallas over the last 10+ years, plus questionable coaching hires and locking down average quarterbacks (Romo) because of one good season. Jerry is not gonna fire Jason Garrett this off season. I also don't think Jerry has the most cash sitting around to lure a coach. The franchise is worth a lot but it is not liquid.

By the lists I've seen, Jones is either 5th or 6th on the list of the league's wealthiest owners. Hell, Allen has more than the next 5 or 6 guys

Not happening!
1. The Cowboys have a coach that JJ isn't really interested in canning right now.
2. JJ is the ultimate micro-manager. He, incorrectly, considers himself a great football mind. He is not, but he will never give up enough power to lure Saban.
3. JJ has a problem sharing the spotlight. He couldn't put up with Johnson's popularity in Dallas.......and Jimmy won him three Super Bowls. Yes, yes I know, Switzer was on the sideline for the last one but make no mistake, that was Jimmy's team. Saban would pull some of the shine away from the owners office and that would be a hard pill for him to swallow.
If I'm wrong, I'll come back for my serving of crow.........but I don't think I am.
