I tried to tell everybody here that was breathing a sigh of relief that JF signed his contracts that that meant nothing were and that a signed contract with a buyout clause was meaningless unless the buyout was 20 million dollars.

I was mocked.

I hope I am wrong.

But if JF leaves - good riddance.

IF he leaves then that will set us back at least 5 years, this assuming bobby leaves after this coming year. i'd hate to see this happend over the most wins record. put the university first, not your records. jmo

The stories from the post gazette have virtually crowned Fisher the new WVU head coach. When will this end? I need a break, and I'm gonna take one. I'm tired of getting kicked in the nuts every time I read something on this board. This must be the bottom, cause things can't get much worse. See you in '08. I'm goona enjoy my holidays and leave this soap opera for another day. i'm outta here.

Fisher is going to burn the Bowden family to take this job, that would show is ture character.

If worse case happens, I certainly hope that BB, TK, and whoever have a plan to get an OC and get him in here immediately to insure all of our recruits do not bail.

I am just tired of this crap. Either he's on board or you not. He just needs figure out what the hell he wants to do so we can move forward.

Tano, you make a great point. If this is hapening a week or so after the new contract, the plan and the lovefest is this going to happen every year until BB retires.

This was not what I envisioned with regards to the succession plan and the perceived added stability.

Shit, there was never a honeymoon.

There is a matter or two hanging out there that have nothing to do with the contract or money.

Please tell us what those are...that's why I'm a subscriber.

No kidding.

So what's the problem already?

Sorry, but nobody in the media tells their readership everything they hear. We get a lot of stuff off the record and have to respect our sources. If I told all, I couldn't continue to provide the inside scoop.

Whether I can give more details depends on how this all plays out. It's not about money, the contract or the academic fraud investigation. And I don't think when Bowden retires is really that big of a deal either.

Based on this, could it be possible that Jimbo could indirectly be looking out for the greater good of the program. Perhaps these lingering issues are some of the same ones we complain about here. Maybe he see a couple of things that need to be addressed before we can truly right the ship.

How ironic this could be!!!

Screw Jimbo!

Posted on 12/23 5:34 PM | IP: Logged

If Jimbo leaves after that BS press confrence, then he just sucks, period. IF he screws us like this he is a bigger POS than Saban and Petrino put together. I don't care about "other factors", he said what he said in that PC, and if he goes back on his word he'a a foocking scumbag, and I hope his pecker quits working.

We have to get people that want to be here and want to turn this around.

if we "let him go" we owe him 2.5.

Also, at this time, it isn't really his team. It's becoming his team. And if/when he leaves, the team he is making, will most likely go with him to WVU. And i am referring to the offensive recruits.

I think that too many people are making this more personal than necessary. I agree that he'll face some justified ridicule for leaving after such a heartfelt (seemingly) showing at the press conference IF he does leave, but who among us wouldn't be tempted by such an opportunity to take care of his family for generations to come, based on the figures being mentioned, if true.

A little devil's advocacy here...

If he stays at FSU, it's a bit of a crapshoot as to whether he'll even get the chance to be the HC. Bobby could decide to stay for many years, in which case JF gets a $2.5M payout for his patience and he heads off on his own.

But, maybe things don't go so well for FSU's offense over the next 3 years and Jimbo's released or decides on his own to take that $2.5M and peddle his resume elsewhere. Suddenly, his market potential may not be what it is at this unique moment in CFB.

If he takes the WVU opportunity for what's being reported as potentially a $10M deal, that's money in the bank for his family's future. I know that for many of us, the difference between $2.5M and $10M is a moot point, but it's real money and will make a huge difference for his family for at least several generations.

Could come down to a "bird-in-hand" thing...

thanks dot

He looked us all in the eyes and said he was here for a long time and that he was so happy to be here to raise his family. I think he should think long and hard before he makes a move that would destroy his credibility. At the end of the day all you have is your word. If he wants to go back on that then that is something that he will have to deal with. I understand the money factor, but he gave his word. That to me is all a man has.
