We here at Warchant.com know that our members have busy schedules. It's hard to keep track of every event of every day leading up to a Seminole football Saturday. That's why we've created this convenient feature, a one-stop shop where the big happenings and developments of the week all are laid out prior to kickoff with this week's opponent: Wake Forest.
Each week of preparation holds different news items. Sometimes the headlines are depth-chart related. Other weeks see injuries as the hot-button issues. This week, FSU news was overtaken by conference expansion chatter.
Notre Dame to ACC
The Fighting Irish are not joining the Atlantic Coast Conference in football, but Notre Dame did agree to become an ACC member in all sports but football while playing five games against ACC competition each season.
Notre Dame's move to the ACC did create a new hurdle for any program that was looking to keep its options open as well. The new exit fee for schools wishing to leave the conference now stands at a minimum of three times the annual television payout fee - which currently hovers around 50 million dollars. FSU opposed the move.
On the injury front
A week after the debilitating news regarding Brandon Jenkins foot, the Seminoles had a decent week on the injury front. Florida State tight end Nick O'Leary and center Bryan Stork were full go in practice this week and will return to the lineup against Wake Forest. Defensive tackle Anthony McCloud figures to start as well.
The bad news this week will not really be known until Saturday. Right tackle Menelik Watson is working on a bad ankle and was rumored to be limited in Wednesday's practice. It sounded as though Watson was limited again Thursday, but head coach Jimbo Fisher said that Watson should be ready to go for Saturday's game.
