Thomas talks about his injury and the Vandy win
After being the lone big play machine in the Georgia Tech passing attack, Demaryius Thomas got a little help from A-back Embry Peeples as Peeples caught an 87-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Josh Nesbitt. Thomas caught four passes for 76 yards and a touchdown as well in the win. Jacketsonline caught up with Thomas after the game to discuss the win and to see how his injured shoulder was doing.
How is your shoulder?
"My shoulder is alright. I hurt it on a field goal/extra point."
Can you talk about the adjustment you made on the touchdown pass?
"I thought it would be on my front side, but it ended up on my back side. I just turned around really and it was right there."
Did you the offensive line give you guys more time to break free?
"Yeah, we got a lot better at that and they are giving Josh (Nesbitt) time to throw and he is making good throws and making plays. The hard work has been paying off lately."
How important was the long touchdown pass to Embry Peeples in terms of opening up things for you and the rest of the passing game?
"It was important and I was happy he caught it and scored because I was kind of tired. I was happy he caught the ball and scored. We got a few more points on the board."
Were you there when coach Johnson drew that play up?
"Yeah, most of the time we look at what they did in the first half and come out in the second half and change stuff up. We came out and saw that the safety was coming down real hard and we faked like we were going to block him and threw it deep. He was wide open."
