Stew: Several things to say

PISCATAWAY, N.J.--A reporter seemed to be offering Bill Stewart congratulations Saturday on a hard-fought 24-21 victory over Rutgers here, but the second-year coach seemed like he had a few things he wanted to get off his rain- and snow-soaked chest.

Bypassing the start of the question, Stewart replied, "West Virginia did not play . . . " Then suddenly broke from that line of thinking and headed off on a fly pattern.

Stewart's response probably had less to do with anything asked him in a happy post-game interview room than it did perhaps with two years' worth pent-up frustration from some fans and some media who seemingly have been on their haunches since the New Martinsville native was named to the job in early January of 2008.
