Sooners Chasing one of Texas' Best

It's been several years since Oklahoma made a true splash in recruiting in the greater Houston area. Of course there are players like Jaz Reynolds from time to time who end up in Norman but by and large the Sooners from Texas' largest city are few and far between. With a few early offers in the class of 2011 it seems the Sooner staff may be attempting to rectify that situation.

One of the earliest offers in the class was extended to Klein (Texas) Oak standout defensive end Nathan Hughes who says that while the Sooners have struggled this year he still was quite excited about the offer.

"They haven't done that well this year, but I know that's not Oklahoma, but next year they will be doing great things, that was a great day for me to have that offer," Hughes said.
