Notebook: Adams earns Outback MVP

Time and time again when Auburn needed a big play or third-down conversion, Darvin Adams responded with a big catch.

The sophomore tied an Outback Bowl record with 12 catches for a career-high 142 yards against Northwestern, earning MVP honors.

Nine of Adams' 12 receptions went for first downs.

"I just appreciate the coaches giving me the chance to make all those catches," Adams said. "(Quarterback) Chris Todd and the offensive line really gave me that chance today and I'm appreciative of that."
