All-American game produces new A&M commit

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Fort Bend (Texas) Marshall cornerback Toney Hurd Jr. has had an eventful couple of weeks.

The three-star defender committed to Notre Dame in the fall, but saw the Irish struggle down the stretch which led to the firing of head coach Charlie Weis. After taking an official visit a few weekends back to Texas A&M along with most of the Aggies' current commitments, the 5-foot-9, 185-pound Hurd called new Irish head coach Brian Kelly and officially de-committed.

Many A&M fans felt that the Houston-area cornerback would eventually end up on the commitment list as well. It did not take long for them to be proven correct as Hurd announced his pledge on Saturday at the Under Armour All-American Game on ESPN.
