Spartan score in-state speedster

One thing Mark Dantonio loves to have on the field is speed. Earlier today he got some good news when one of the fastest players in the Midwest decided to become a member of the Green and White. SpartanMag.com has the details.

Spartanmag.com has learned via text from the Athletic Director at Westland John Glenn High School that Jeremy Langford has given his commitment to Head Coach mark Dantonio.

Langford had a tremendous senior season for John Glenn High School rushing for 1932-yards and scoring 24 touchdowns on 204 carries. He was named 1st Team All-State and a member of the Detroit Free Press Dream Team.

Langford has seen his stock improve significantly the last few weeks. He was offered a scholarship by Colorado and took an official visit there prior to Christmas. He will be taking his official visit to Michigan State the weekend of January 15th.

Langford has tremendous speed. Last spring he defeated UM speedster Teric Jones in the 100-Meters and has clocked a 40-time faster than fellow John Glenn standout and current Spartan Keshawn Martin. Langford posted a 4.42 Forty-Yard dash time at the Spartan summer camp.

Langford will come to Michigan State as a running back, but he could also play other positions if things do not work out there. At 6-foot-1, 185-pound Langford has the size to also project as a wide receiver or defensive back. The Spartans would like to see him add some quality size and become a break-away threat out of the backfield.

SpartanMag.com will have more on Langford's commitment in the near future.
