Robinson working to clear academic hurdles

Texas A&M took a chance on four-star defensive lineman Ivan Robinson from Longville (Louis.) South Beauregard last spring when they offered him relatively early for the class of 2010. Now, it looks like the decision could pay off for both parties.

Robinson reported to Rivals.com that he had a score of 16 on his ACT and a 2.9 GPA during a November interview. As a result, it appeared that the 6-foot-4, 250-pound defender had some work to do before he obtained clearance from the NCAA that he was qualified. According to South Beauregard head coach Shawn Demeritt, he is there as of right now.
