Looking at linebackers heading toward spring

With spring right around the corner and with the graduation of Reggie Carter and Kyle Bosworth the linebacker position is going to be interesting to watch during spring camp. With only one returning starter, Akeem Ayers (6-4, 252), the linebacker position should be one of high competition and intensity.

Ayers played his best football during the last part of the season culminating with an outstanding performance EagleBank Bowl helping the Bruins to a winning season.

Over last four games of the season, Ayers racked up 30 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, three interceptions (one brought back to the house for a score) and he also returned a fumble for a touchdown.

With one spot taken by Ayers there are two positions that will see intense competition to make a name for themselves and earn the starting spot going into training camp.
