Keeping it simple on offense

An A-Day record crowd of 63,217 saw Auburn's Blue team edge the White 21-17 Saturday in Jordan-Hare Stadium.

The first half included 30 plays for the offense and defense, which head coach Gene Chizik said was the day's plan.

"It wasn't too many and it wasn't too little and that's good," Chizik said. "We had good reps on both sides of the ball and tried to stay vanilla today. We wanted to see them block, throw and catch, that's really what we did."

Quarterbacks Neil Caudle, Cameron Newton and Barrett Trotter alternated each series in that order throughout the Blue-versus-White first half. Redshirt freshman Clint Moseley joined the rotation starting in the third quarter. ...
