Massive tackle talks two finalists

Russellville (Ark.) High School is installing a new offense this spring.

Graduation losses and new personnel call for more of a run-first mentality next season, and Russellville offensive lineman Mitch Hall isn't sure if the change in scheme is a positive for him or not.

That will depend on which school he signs with in February.

Hall (6-foot-6, 330 pounds) has offers from Ole Miss and Missouri and is content to choose between those two, not attempting to promote himself or worry about other schools. He says the Rebels and Tigers have everything he's looking for.

"It'll be one of those two," Hall said. "If I choose Ole Miss the new system will be beneficial, but Missouri does more spread stuff, so that's not the same."

Ole Miss has a noteworthy connection, as Hall's older brother, Matt, is an offensive lineman for the Rebels. The elder Hall transferred from Arkansas and is having to sit out 2010 due to NCAA transfer policies.

"It'd be neat to be at the same place," Hall said. "At times I think about wanting to go somewhere different, but I understand the opportunity of playing with him. We'll see. I've got time to figure it out."

Hall has been a constant on Ole Miss' campus this spring, partly because of recruiting and also to visit Matt. The family knows most of the Ole Miss coaching staff well, especially head coach Houston Nutt and offensive line coach Mike Markuson, due to Matt's recruitment. The coaches were at Arkansas at the time.

Hall took in the Rebels' spring game last Saturday and enjoyed the experience.

"It was just great to see coach Nutt and coach Markuson again," Hall said. "Always good to talk to them and see who things are going. I thought the offense was coming along. It was a fun time.

"We haven't been able to keep up with my brother a lot, so he was there, of course."

Hall visited Missouri for a team camp last summer but hasn't returned since. He's expecting to visit both Ole Miss and Mizzou for senior days this summer. Camps will be difficult because of his high school schedule.

And then official visits will happen after his senior season.

"The officals are a ways away, and I'll wait until then to decide," Hall said. "I'm comfortable in knowing I have a couple great options and will be happy."
