White has Attention of Sooner Staff
Of all the visitors of Oklahoma's junior day in mid-December there were numerous players from both Oklahoma and Texas but only one player crossed time zones to be in Norman.
McDonough (Ga.) Union Grove cornerback D.J. White is the son of a Delta employee and took full advantage of discounted travel costs by coming to Norman for Oklahoma's earliest junior day ever. It should come as no surprise that White has such an early interest in Oklahoma as White has known Oklahoma defensive backs coach Willie Martinez from his days as a Georgia Bulldog assistant.
"I had been in contact with coach Martinez when he was at Georgia, and when he moved I had always been curious (about Oklahoma). Then he invited me out so my dad works for Delta so we caught a flight," the 6-foot, 175-pound White explained.
