2012 QB with four offers
Greyson Lambert, a class of 2012 quarterback from Jesup (Ga.) Wayne County, is the first to admit he doesn't know what to make of the recruiting process at this stage.
"I'm really clueless when it comes to everything right now," he said Tuesday.
What Lambert does know is this: several major college programs are interested. A handful - Alabama, Clemson, Georgia and N.C. State -- have even offered. The Crimson Tide was the first to pull the trigger, doing so last summer.
"The four schools that have offered -- those stand out, just for that reason," the 6-foot-5, 192-pound Lambert said.
Who else has Lambert, who as a junior passed for 1,991 yards, 20 touchdowns and 12 interceptions, heard from? The better question: Who hasn't he heard from? So far, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Southern California, Texas and Texas A&M are among those showing interest.
"I like all the schools with pro-style offenses," Lambert said. "Basically, I could see myself playing in that offense."
Next up for Lambert; deciding which junior days to attend.
"I've been invited to Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Florida State, Clemson, LSU, Arkansas and I think some others," Lambert said.
Lambert claims to have no real leader at the moment. Nonetheless, he's hopeful his recruitment won't drag itself out.
"My goal is to get it done before next season," Lambert said. "There are multiple reasons why. I'd like to keep the focus on my team. My senior year is really important to me. Wayne County hasn't been to the playoffs in forever. I'd really like for my senior year to be when we try to turn things around and get Wayne County back on track."
