VIDEO: True Spartan Grit

EAST LANSING - There seems to be no end to the list of things the Spartans will have to overcome in order to hear their name called on Selection Sunday. Saturday night was no different.

Already having shuffled the lineup to accommodate a bruised Delvon Roe and a struggling Durrell Summers,Tom Izzo found himself shuffling all over again when Draymond Green's flu went from bad to worse just hours before the 9 p.m. tip-off with Illinois.

But desperate for a win - and feeling the pressure of maintaining an NCAA Tournament streak for all the Spartans that have come before them - Roe and Green willed their ailing bodies behind the brass of Kalin Lucas and lived to fight another day.

"I got a text from Morris Peterson that said 'Coach, tell them to play like Spartans. The pride of a Spartan'," Izzo said. "If Delvon Roe doesn't embody that, no one does."
