PA prospect talks SU offer

Syracuse University will return a fairly veteran offensive line next season, but in the college game teams always have to think down the road when it comes to offensive lineman. The Orange are doing just that and one of the first offensive line prospects to receive an offer is 6-foot-3, 282-pound Frank Taylor from Warrington (Pa.) Archbishop Wood Catholic.

It has been just over a week since Taylor received his Syracuse offer and he was pleased to see the letter come in.

"I would say that Syracuse offered me last Thursday. I was excited they are a great school academically and they have a nice team."

Despite being excited about the offer Taylor does not know much about the Orange program besides a couple items.

"I think they have a nice school and a nice program, so I am ready to give them a look."

A visit to get to know the school more is in the cards, but the time frame has not been worked out yet.

"It is not planned yet, but I may go up to one of their summer camps or a spring practice."

Greg Adkins is recruiting Taylor and the Keystone State product is ready to improve his relationship with the Orange coach.

"Coach Greg Adkins is recruiting me. We have only talked on the phone once and now I am just looking to strengthen that relationship a little more."

On Rivals.com Taylor is listed as a guard, but if he were to pick Syracuse he would have a couple positions to pick from.

"They are looking at me for either center of guard."

Taylor feels he has a few items that stick out right now that make him a division one football prospect.

"I am coachable, I have great technique, I'm a leader, and I fire the team up and lead by example."

This past football season was a tough one for Taylor, but despite some setbacks he felt everything went well.

"It was good I played really well, but I was caught up with some minor injuries. I felt I still had a solid season."

When it comes to a decision Taylor is in no hurry and think his decision will be made months after he is done playing high school football.

"I do not have a time frame, but I was thinking maybe midway through senior year."
