Savage enjoying recruiting so far
Jeff Savage says the recruiting process is fun and he's starting to hear from a lot of schools. So far, Savage has heard from Louisiana Tech, Arkansas, Arkansas State, Mississippi State, Tulsa, Stanford and Clemson. Savage claims one offer from Missouri State.
Savage said he is already down to five schools however. Those schools are Mississippi State, Arkansas, Tech, Arkansas State and Missouri State.
Savage said he is open to play whatever at the next level whether it's linebacker or defensive lineman. Savage's father was a running back at Arkansas in 1991 and 1992.
"I want to play soon; I don't want to be a senior starter. I don't want to have to drive 10 hours to get home. I like an exciting coaching staff, a fiery coaching staff, not just someone who is laid back and lets everything go with the flow. I want someone who is into what their doing all the time," said Savage of what he's looking for in a college.
At Tech's Junior day, Savage said he saw that, "their coaching staff is really well composed. You can tell that everyone is in sync with what they are doing. Also, people responded well to it. Their players love their coaching staff, particularly the defensive line coach, Stan Eggen."
Eggen's passion stuck out to Savage and his friend Randy Taylor of Parkers Chapel (Ark.). Taylor and Savage as well as 3 other players have discussed playing together at the next level. Kenneth Dixon, Defonta Lowe, and Marquis Walker are the other players.
Tech wants Savage at DE or DT because he is 6'2" 265lbs.
"I like Louisiana Tech; I could definitely see myself playing there honestly," said to close.
Savage reports a 26 on the ACT and over a 3.0 GPA. Savage wants to get a 30 on the ACT and have a 3.5 by graduation.
