Top DL to visit Dawgs

Georgia coaches get to make their big pitch to one of the nation's more coveted defensive tackle prospects this weekend when Rivals100 defensive tackle Carlos Watkins makes a visit to Athens.

The 6-foot-4, 285-pounder confirmed his trip in a text to UGASports.

Watkins is one of 10 defensive tackle prospects currently with offers from the Bulldogs, including Jenkins County standout Jonathan Taylor, who committed to Georgia last month.

Watkins currently lists Florida, Clemson and South Carolina among his top three schools.

As a junior in 2010, Watkins made 50 tackles, 29 for loss and recorded 14 sacks.

The four-star currently boasts 18 offers and besides his ones from Georgia, Florida, South Carolina and Clemson, includes ones from Alabama, Notre Dame and Nebraska.
