Players talk delay

With over four hours of lightning delays in three separate instances in yesterday's home opener against the Marshall Thundering Herd, one would wonder what the team did to pass the time and keep motivated? Well, a variety of things.

"We had Xbox games going on, we had pool games going on, some guys were playing cards in the corner," Head Coach Dana Holgorsen said. "We had some TVs going on watching the weather channel, watching the SMU/Texas A&M game, sitting in the weight room, that's about all we can do."

Holgorsen praised his team for how they handled the adverse situation and how the Mountaineers responded out of the delays with energy, but believes the right decision was made to call the game with the Mountaineers the winners 34-13 at the 14:36 mark in the 4th quarter.
