Week 7: Looking back, looking ahead

Looking back to Army

Army came to Nashville as the nation's leader in time of possession and rushing yards, but Vanderbilt topped the Black Knights in both areas. The Commodores out-rushed Army 344-270, and kept the ball for 34:15.

The reasons for Vandy's success offensively were quarterback Jordan Rodgers and running back Zac Stacy, and an offensive line that continues to improve with experience.

Rodgers made his starting debut, completing 10-of-27 throws for 186 yards and rushing 18 times for 96 more, while tossing a touchdown and two interceptions.
