One week after a tough road loss to Cal, the Beaver defense came out ready to play against Washington. Senior Day was a perfect backdrop for the defense to put on a good performance which included four sacks and three timely forced turnovers.

Two of those sacks came at the hands of freshman defensive end Scott Crichton, who earned his third Giant Killer Award for this week's effort. He had a lot of help however as Andrew Seumalo, Dylan Wynn and Kevin Frahm combined for an additional 13 tackles and one and a half sacks.

The linebacking unit was led once again by Michael Doctor with eight tackles, including one for loss. This is Doctor's eight MVP honor this season as he continues to grow into his role in the Oregon State defense. Middle linebacker Feti Unga was back after sitting out for several weeks with a leg injury. He added another seven tackles while senior Cam Collins had four.

There has been a lot of talk lately about the growth of the Beavers secondary. As Jordan Poyer continues to make plays and interceptions, quarterbacks are throwing toward Rashaad Reynolds side of the field. Reynolds has grown in both his read and coverage skills and added four tackles and a break-up against the Huskies. MVP honoree Anthony Watkins registered eight tackles in the game, while fellow safety Ryan Murphy's timely interception helped seal the Beavers victory.
