Insider Report: Freshmen class begins workouts

The Seminoles football team grew by over 28 percent on Monday when 22 new freshmen were on hand for the first day of workouts. With the two freshmen and three junior college transfers that enrolled in January, the 2006 recruiting class is nearly complete. With Brent Brewer deciding to sign a baseball contract, only Brandon Warren and Tim Rawlinson are still unaccounted for. That means 27 of the 30-member class are now officially Seminoles. The decision to keep the newcomers separated from the rest of the team was made in order to evaluate the group's physical conditioning before they are thrown into the mix.

"They ran with our athletic training staff just to get kind of a gauge on where they are with their fitness level," strength and conditioning coach Jon Jost told Warchant.com. "They will do about 50 percent of what we have scheduled tomorrow. Really, this whole first week is us learning really who they are, and what their strengths and weakness are."
