Pass skeleton a big part of the summer
As temperatures spike near the century mark during summer workouts in Athens, there is more to the Bulldogs than players lifting weights and running wind sprints in torrid heat.
Though a large part of summer workouts deal with conditioning and the lifting of weights, another part is comprised of the team's seven-on-seven pass skeleton drills. By going through pass skeleton, quarterbacks, receivers, running backs, linebackers and defensive backs are able to simulate going against players on the other side of the ball and sharpen their game though no college teams can practice until the early part of August.
"It's crucial, because we've all been away from the game for about two months," said Georgia free safety Kelin Johnson. "It's all about timing, cutting, catching the ball and about the quarterback knowing where the receiver is going to be when the DB is on top of them."
Thanks to pass skeletons, Georgia's receivers and defensive backs that are enrolling in the summer are able to get an idea about the competition they'll face starting with preseason camp in August.
