UT commitment only knows one speed

Gilmer athlete Curtis Brown plays football at one speed, full speed.

The 6-0, 176-pound wiry strong receiver/corner back is a fierce competitor that loves contact and must win the battle every time the ball is snapped.

Brown's passion, toughness and competitive fire are easy to see from any seat in the stands on Friday nights in East Texas. As Gilmer offensive line coach/run game coordinator coach Kurt Traylor says, sometimes we have to tell him to get out of bounds.

Brown, who is currently rated as the nation's No.36 overall prospect by Rivals.com, is coming off a junior season in which he caught 63 passes for 974 yards (15.5 per catch) and 10 touchdowns. If that wasn't good enough, he added 47 carries for 750 yards (16.0 per attempt) and eight touchdowns running the ball.

Brown took part in the Texas Longhorns first mini-camp June 4th and matched-up with several future teammates. Brown worked out at corner back and receiver.
