*The offensive guard position took another hit today when redshirt freshman Mike Johnson rolled his left ankle during a pass rush drill. Johnson sported an ice pack on his ankle for the rest of the workout. With Johnson sidelined and Marlon Davis not expected to return, redshirt freshman Scott Deaton and junior Justin Moon worked with the second offense for much of this morning's practice. One or both could factor into the two-deep in the near future.

*One-on-one highlights: Jeffrey Dukes stepped in front of a Jimmy Barnes pass for an interception; corners Javier Arenas and Lionel Mitchell had pass breakups; and wide receiver Matt Caddell ran a razor-sharp out cut that quarterback Marc Guillon finished off with a perfect throw. After the play, even secondary coach Chris Ball was forced to compliment Caddell on his route running.

*With Keith Brown out for this morning's practice, the Tide's three wide set consisted of DJ Hall, Will Oakley and Caddell. Hall has come on in the last two practices to resemble the guy we last saw on A-Day, while both Caddell and Oakley are off to good starts this preseason.
