Fall Camp 8/16: Sights and Sounds

-One of the more disappointing things to come out of Wednesday's practice is the knowledge that anticipated starting H-Back Brent Miller has a knee issue that will require further testing on Thursday.

Miller has been having a terrific camp and if he's lost for anything length of time, it will severely test a tight ends group that is quite shallow, considering Dane Guthrie is out with a hamstring injury and the play of other scholarship players at the position has been unremarkable.

If Brent Miller is out for a prolonged period, the Sun Devils would almost certainly rely considerably on the services of junior walk-on Brady Conrad, a Scottsdale JUCO transfer, and it's even possible that true freshman Lance Evbuomwan could find his way onto the field.

-Conditions were about as ideal as they're ever going to be on an August evening at practice on Wednesday. It was warm but not hot, the grass field was in immaculate condition and the band was practicing on an adjacent field, the first time we'd heard them since the beginning of camp a week and a half ago.
