Ben Olson meets the press

Quarterback Ben Olson had a solid day underneath center during Saturday's scrimmage. He was poised even though the defense was playing very good and he had good leadership throughout the day. UCLA head coach Karl Dorrell hasn't named a starter yet, but most of the media thinks he will name Big Ben the starter here pretty soon. Olson spent some time with the media after the scrimmage.

Olson: "It's kind of funny but you always remember the plays you could have improved on more than the good plays. I'm just going to take this scrimmage and watch the film and just try to get better."

Did the defense surprise by the way they were able put pressure on you?

Olson: "Like I said earlier. We didn't know exactly they were going to be running what they were running. We were going out there with the mindset that there wasn't going to be a lot of blitzes coming.

"They surprised with the pressure but I think we did a good job in the end there picking that stuff up and getting in the groove there.

"Utah likes to bring that stuff so it was good for us to practice against."
