Nothing officially finalized with Keller

As of late Tuesday evening nothing officially has been finalized on the transfer status of Arizona State quarterback Sam Keller.


HuskersIllustrated.com reported on Monday that Keller and his family have been in contact with Nebraska head coach Bill Callahan about possibly transferring to NU. Husker quarterbacks Zac Taylor and Joe Ganz were then told about Keller's potential transfer by offensive coordinator Jay Norvell that same evening.


Following Tuesday's practice inside Memorial Stadium, Callahan officially confirmed that there has been contact made with Keller. Callahan said ASU has released Keller from his scholarship and granted Nebraska permission to talk with him.


"I'd like to talk to you further about it, but the NCAA has really restricted my ability to speak about it because he is a recruited prospect," Callahan said. "All I can tell you is he has been granted permission and he has been given a release by Arizona State to Nebraska."
