Running backs fight for playing time
One problem Mike Shula and his staff have never had to face is handling a glut of talent at one position. But with a handful of very capable, very talented players at running back this season, it's an issue they'll need to consider.
Running behind senior Kenneth Darby is a group of talented backups the likes of which the Tide may have never seen. Sophomores Jimmy Johns and Glen Coffee each made an impact last season while freshmen Roy Upchurch, Ali Sharrief and Terry Grant are still looking to make their mark with the Tide.
All have played well but the question remains, who will see the field this fall?
